Overview
The On-the-Job Training (OJT) Programme is a mandatory graduation requirement for NCST students and a core pillar of our applied education model. It provides students with real workplace exposure, enabling them to apply technical knowledge, develop professional skills, and understand the realities of the labour market.
OJT reflects NCST’s national mission to prepare skilled, disciplined, and job-ready Bahraini youth, aligned with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision for workforce development
Why OJT Matters
Through structured workplace immersion, OJT allows students to:

Without successful completion of OJT, students cannot graduate or receive their certification
OJT Duration
The duration of OJT depends on the programme level:
- School Level (Grade 12): 2–3 weeks
- Post-School / Corporate Programmes: 4–12 weeks
During this period, students work full-time (6–8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week) under real workplace conditions.

Roles & Responsibilities
Role of the Hosting Company
Partner organisations play a vital role in student development by providing:
1. Company Induction
- Introduction to rules, regulations, and procedures
- Health, safety, security, and confidentiality briefing
2. Practical Experience
- Assigning a workplace supervisor or mentor
- Providing meaningful tasks and varied experiences
- Treating students as responsible team members
3. Monitoring & Support
- Tracking progress, attendance, and development
- Completing action plans and feedback forms
4. Assisting NCST Assessment
- Supporting assessor visits
- Participating in evaluations and feedback
Role of NCST
NCST ensures quality, fairness, and compliance through:
- Regular assessor visits and workplace observation
- Monitoring learner performance and progress
- Employer evaluation and employment feedback
- Final grading and certification approval
- Continuous improvement based on industry feedback
Learner Responsibilities
Students are expected to demonstrate professionalism by:
- Following workplace rules and safety procedures
- Maintaining punctuality and attendance
- Respecting confidentiality and security policies
- Completing action plans, task lists, and weekly diaries
- Representing NCST positively at all times
OJT is treated as real employment experience, and students are expected to behave accordingly

Student performance is evaluated through:
