ON THE JOB TRAINING (OJT) PROGRAM

HOME PAGE > ACADEMIC CENTRE > ON THE JOB TRAINING (OJT) PROGRAM

Overview

The On-the-Job Training (OJT) Programme is a mandatory graduation requirement for NCST students and a core pillar of our applied education model. It provides students with real workplace exposure, enabling them to apply technical knowledge, develop professional skills, and understand the realities of the labour market.

OJT reflects NCST’s national mission to prepare skilled, disciplined, and job-ready Bahraini youth, aligned with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision for workforce development

Why OJT Matters

Through structured workplace immersion, OJT allows students to:

  • Apply classroom learning in real environments
  • Develop professional behaviour and work ethics
  • Gain industry-relevant experience
  • Build confidence and responsibility
  • Improve employability and career clarity

Without successful completion of OJT, students cannot graduate or receive their certification

OJT Duration

The duration of OJT depends on the programme level:

  • School Level (Grade 12): 2–3 weeks
  • Post-School / Corporate Programmes: 4–12 weeks

During this period, students work full-time (6–8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week) under real workplace conditions.

Aims & Objectives of OJT

The OJT Programme aims to:

  • Provide relevant and practical work experience
  • Broaden awareness of workplace practices and culture
