Our admissions process follows a holistic evaluation approach, assessing not only academic readiness, but also social and emotional development, communication skills, and the student’s motivation to succeed. This ensures that every admitted student is well-prepared to benefit from NCST’s unique learning environment.
Admission Process

All applicants are required to complete placement tests in:
- Mathematics
- English
- Arabic
- Analytical & IQ assessment

Unlike traditional secondary education, NCST allows students to specialize early in fields that shape the future economy.
Our academic tracks include:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Cloud Computing
- Cybersecurity
- Advanced & General Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical)
- Sport & Business Management
This approach enables students to discover their strengths early, build confidence, and graduate with real skills, not just grades.
In addition, personal interviews are conducted in both Arabic and English to evaluate:
- Academic readiness
- Communication skills
- Personal motivation
- Compatibility with NCST’s academic culture
These assessments ensure students meet the minimum academic standards required for enrollment.
2. Admission Criteria
- Applicants must be Bahraini citizens
- Admission is highly competitive, with limited seats available per program
- Passing placement tests is mandatory
- Admission offers are subject to program capacity and NCST discretion
Entrance Examinations – What to Expect
1. Arabic Language (Grammar & Writing)
Topics Covered:
- أقسام الكلام (الاسم – الفعل – الحرف)
- الفعل والفاعل والمفعول به
- الضمائر (أنواعها واستخدامها)
- أدوات الجزم والنفي
- الإعراب (بشكل مبسط)
- أنواع الجمل (اسمية وفعلية)
Written Component Includes:
- Short self-introduction (skills & hobbies)
- Language transformation (singular/plural, tense changes)
- Guided writing:
Writing a short paragraph (4 lines) on a given topic
(e.g. distance learning, describing a tourist attraction, or a memorable life event)
2. English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary & Writing)
Topics Covered:
- Vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, odd-one-out)
- Grammar (tenses, sentence completion, plural/singular)
- Word relationships and analogies
Level: Upper basic to lower intermediate
Writing Sample:
Students write a 45–55 word email, for example:
- Planning a visit to another country
- Asking a friend to meet
- Suggesting an activity
This assesses writing clarity, structure, and communication skills.
3. Mathematics & Logical Reasoning
Topics Covered:
- Numbers and their Operations:
- Number Operations: PEMDAS rule, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, and Exponentiation.
- Number Representation: Number Base, Digits of Numbers and Decimal representation.
- Number Comparison: Trichotomy law, Equal, Not Equal, Less Than, and Greater Than.
- Rational Representation and Equivalence: Fraction, Decimal, Percent Ratio and Proportion.
- Number Theory
- Prime factorization of an Integer
- Divisibility rules and Multiples of an Integer
- Sequence of Integers
- Analytic Geometry:
- Simplifying Expression
- Solving Linear Equations
- Solving Linear Inequality
- Evaluating Linear Function
- Rectangular Coordinate System: Representation of Points, Lines, Midpoints, Parallel, and Perpendicular Lines.
- Measurements:
- Unit Conversion: Unit Measures for Distance, Time, and Temperature.
- Finding the Perimeter and Area, of Geometric Objects (Triangle, Circle, Square, and Rectangle).
- Statistics:
- Mean (Average), Median, Mid-range, and Mode.
Skills Assessed:
Numeracy, logical deduction, problem-solving
4. Science & General Knowledge
Topics Covered:
- Electrical units (Ampere, Volt, Watt)
- Circuit types (series & parallel)
- Basic physics and chemistry concepts (e.g. activation energy)
Level: Basic (middle school foundation)
5. Analytical Thinking & Visual Reasoning
Topics Covered:
- Pattern recognition
- Figure and number sequences
- Logical arrangements
- Visual and logical puzzles
Skills Assessed:
Analytical thinking, spatial awareness, reasoning ability
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- Completed application form
- Copy of student’s passport and CPR
- Copies of both parents’ passports and CPR
- Grade 9 first-semester certificate
- Student medical report
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- Good conduct letter from previous school (can be submitted later)
For Transfer Students
Bahraini Public Schools
- Certified transfer certificate
- Grade 9 final report approved by the Ministry of Education
Private Schools
- Certified transfer certificate approved by the Private Education Section (MoE)
- Grade 9 final report
International Schools
- Certificates certified by:
- Ministry of Education
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs (country of origin)
- Bahraini Embassy
Admission Period
Applications open according to the academic calendar and are processed on a space-available basis. Early application is strongly encouraged.
Applicants may:
- Apply online via the Online Registration Form, or
- Visit the NCST campus to complete registration in person
Confirming Registration
Successful applicants must confirm their offer in person within the timeframe announced on:
- NCST website
- SMS
To confirm enrollment, students must:
- Print the offer letter from the Admissions & Registration Department
- Submit any missing documents
- Sign required NCST forms
Conditional offers may be issued if documents are pending. Failure to meet conditions by the stated deadline will result in offer withdrawal.
Accepted Students
- Accepted student lists are published on the NCST website
- Notifications are sent via SMS
- NCST typically issues two rounds of offers
- Offers not confirmed by the deadline are considered declined
